Why I Broke Up With Medium (and Moved to Ghost )

So… I finally did it. I packed up my digital bags, waved goodbye to Medium, and moved into my new haunted mansion: Ghost. Why? Three main reasons:

1. Styling & Ownership - Medium felt like renting an apartment where the landlord won't let you paint the walls. Ghost? I get to knock down walls, add skylights, and put neon signs in the kitchen. It's my house.
2. Audience Partitioning - I write two very different things: reflective faith & life pieces (stories and poetry), and techie deep-dives. Ghost lets me neatly split those paths in one site - no more confusing readers or mixing Sunday-quiet with code-loud.
3. Custom Domain - Because nothing says "serious writer" like not having ".medium.com" awkwardly dangling from your name. I now live at blog.schwannden.com . Feels good.
